3 months old

Today is Audrey's 3 month birthday, so that means it was time to drag out the Raggedy Ann doll for another picture. If you're like me and want to see how much she is growing each month, you can find her one month picture here and her two month picture here.

We couldn't get her to smile at all for today's picture. All she wanted to do was stare at the camera!

Trying to roll over?

Audrey is all about rolling onto her side right now. She's been laying on her side all night while she is in her crib. She also does it when she is playing on the floor. It looks like she is trying to roll over. She can get her head all the way turned around, so her face is almost planted in the ground. But she can't get her whole body to follow her head quite yet. The problem is that she seems to be annoyed by it. She starts to get fussy when she's on her side, like she wants to roll all the way over. But then if you help to roll over, she gets mad because she doesn't like to be on her tummy for long. So you roll her back over to her back, she rolls over to her side and the process starts all over again!!

Trying to eat her hands is also her new favorite thing!

Time for Some Discipline

So, I haven't really worried too much about being disciplined and keeping up with the housework and stuff since Audrey has been born. But I suppose the time has come, when I need to work a little more discipline and routine into my day. I worry about Audrey being in a routine, but I probably need to come up with a routine for myself each day.

I don't think I'm quite ready to go back to the chore chart I started to keep myself busy during the last months of pregnancy. But I do have a list of things that I want to do daily, so here it is, in order from the highest priority to the least. You, my faithful blog readers, can help keep me accountable!

1. Take care of Audrey. Obviously, this is the first priority and this takes up the most of my time!!

2. Do a daily chore. Each day I'm going to pick out one major chore that needs to be done. Today, it is working on the laundry. I think tomorrow is going to be cleaning the bathrooms, yuck!

3. Update my new photo blog: http://www.emilysdailyphotos.blogspot.com/ I'm attempting to learn more about photography, so I'm going to try to be faithful about taking and posting one photo a day on this blog. And if I get really ambitious, I'm going to take all of these photos at the end of the year and turn them into a scrapbook.

4. Read. If you go to my new photo blog, you will see that I have a reading goal of 40 books for this year. I need to read a lot more than I am currently reading to meet that goal

5. Exercise. This should probably be listed higher but it always ends up being last. I'd like to be more in shape and lose the 8 pounds or so I still have from the pregnancy...so I'd like to do some kind of exercise each day. This will be easier when it is warm and Audrey and I can go for walks!

Well, that's my plan daily at least. Then I'll probably add in some weekly "to dos" as well. This week it is getting my lesson ready for my Galatians class at church tomorrow night. Next week it will be getting ready for my February stamping classes. As long as I make a list of things to do, I tend to be a lot more disciplined and a lot less lazy!

A new discovery

Audrey is finally starting to figure out that her hands are connected to her body and that she can control them. She started by trying to fit her whole fist in her mouth. Now, she has started to reach up and hit her toys on the play gym.

This morning, I put Audrey in her crib so she could watch her mobile while I took a shower. When I came into her room, she was holding both of her arms straight up in the air. It was like she was trying to reach her mobile the same way she can reach her toys on the play gym. Then she started to get mad, so maybe she was frustrated by the fact that no matter how far she stretched her arms up, she wasn't going to be anywhere near touching that mobile.

12 weeks

It's Friday, so that means Audrey is another week older...12 weeks now. Crazy! I haven't been too sad about her growing up so fast until this week. This week she started to take more formula, which means we had to go and buy bigger bottles. And I'm really sad about the bigger bottles for some reason. It means she's getting bigger, and that's starting to make me kind of sad.

Daniel was changing her the other day and was waiting for me to bring new clothes downstairs. While he was waiting, he put her in the Bumbo seat with just her diaper on. And she looked so cute!

Baby Legs!

I just love these leg warmers for babies called BabyLegs. Even before I was pregnant, I thought these were fun. So now that I have a baby, I just had to get some for Audrey. They are nice for keeping her legs warm under a nightgown, or even with just a onesie. And it makes for quicker diaper changes as well. Plus I just think she looks cute in them, although honestly I think she looks cute in everything!

Daddy/Daughter Time

Audrey seems to like it when we read to her. She often will settle down when she is fussy or fall asleep when you start reading. So I sometimes read my books to her, and Daniel reads the Bible to her. Here Daniel is reading to her the small group text for this week (Exodus 11-14).

We tried to get a picture of Daniel and Audrey and her "Daddy Loves Me" shirt. She has kind of crazy eyes in this picture, but it is the best one we could get. She didn't really want to sit there while we tried to take a bunch of pictures.
